You are going to host one backyard party. One. And somehow you are standing in a hardware store aisle seriously considering buying a generator. A portable generator runs $800 to $1,200. You need it for a single Saturday in Langley. Rent one locally through RentalHive.ca for around $60 to $80 for the weekend. Same power. Zero storage problem. No explaining to your partner why there is a generator living in the garage until 2031. Find what you need nearby at RentalHive.ca

A lively suburban backyard party in the Pacific Northwest on a warm golden-hour Saturday afternoon. A compact portable generator sits neatly on a concrete patio edge in the foreground, sharp and well-lit, with a bright orange power cable running toward string lights strung between cedar posts overhead. Behind it, a cheerful gathering unfolds — a wooden picnic table loaded with food, laughing guests in casual clothes, kids running on a green lawn, and a low fence with lush West Coast cedar hedges beyond. The lighting is warm amber and golden, casting long soft shadows across the scene. Shot at a slightly elevated three-quarter angle with a shallow depth of field — generator and cable crisp in the foreground, party scene glowing softly behind. Colour palette of warm white string lights, rich greens, weathered cedar, and concrete grey, with a mood that feels effortless, real, and genuinely fun.
