I'd like to introduce a project I've been working on: RentalHive.ca. The idea came from something I've experienced countless times — people buying expensive tools, equipment, and party supplies only to use them once or twice before they sit unused in a garage or storage room. At the same time, others are looking to rent those exact items for a day, a weekend, or a single project. So I built RentalHive to help connect the two. Tools and equipment Party supplies Audio and event gear Landscaping equipment Photography gear And much more RentalHive is a local marketplace where owners can earn extra income from equipment they already own, while renters can save money by renting instead of buying. We are currently focused on serving Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, and we are actively looking for our first users, feedback, and listings. If you own equipment you would be willing to rent out — or if you have ever needed something for a short-term project — I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for supporting local small businesses and entrepreneurs. Visit us at RentalHive.ca

A wide, slightly elevated three-quarter angle shot of a tidy suburban Vancouver garage with the door rolled open on a bright Saturday morning. Golden natural light spills across a neatly organised collection of tools and equipment — a power drill, a pressure washer, a folded pop-up canopy, stacked plastic storage bins, and a leaf blower leaning against the wall. In the foreground, a friendly man in his mid-thirties wearing a worn canvas work shirt crouches beside a compact tile saw, handing it across to a smiling woman in her late twenties holding a reusable tote bag, as if a casual neighbour-to-neighbour exchange is taking place. The colour palette is warm whites, amber wood tones, concrete grey flooring, and lush Pacific Northwest greenery just visible beyond the driveway. Shallow depth of field keeps the two figures and the tool sharp while the garage interior softly blurs behind them. The mood is optimistic, grounded, and community-driven — crisp commercial photography with clean highlights and no harsh shadows.
