Renting a truck to move one couch is normal. So why do we keep buying $500 sanders for a single deck refinish? The random orbital sander. Used for one long weekend in Maple Ridge. Bought with good intentions. Now it lives in the back of a shelf behind the paint cans. Rent one locally through RentalHive.ca for around $35 to $50 instead. Do the job. Return it. Done. Your garage thanks you. So does your wallet. Find the right tool for your next project at RentalHive.ca

A sun-drenched suburban backyard deck in Maple Ridge, BC, mid-refinishing project on a warm Saturday afternoon. A random orbital sander sits centred on raw, freshly sanded cedar planks, surrounded by light wood dust and a folded piece of sandpaper nearby. The deck boards show a satisfying contrast between the worn weathered grey edges and the newly revealed warm amber wood grain in the sanded strip. Golden-hour side lighting rakes across the textured surface, casting long soft shadows that emphasise the wood grain and dust particles floating in the air. A cold can of sparkling water rests casually in the background near a pair of worn work gloves, hinting at a solo DIYer taking a break. Wide three-quarter elevated angle, shallow depth of field with the sander sharp in the foreground and a lush Pacific Northwest cedar fence and greenery softly blurred behind. Colour palette of warm amber, honey wood tones, concrete grey, and deep green. Crisp commercial photography style, bright and optimistic with rich natural daylight.
