I want to be honest about where RentalHive came from. It wasn't a business plan. It was frustration. A family member spent $400 on a tile saw for one bathroom project. Used it for a weekend. It has lived in a closet ever since. Around the same time, a friend in Coquitlam was pricing out the exact same saw at a hardware store — for a single weekend job. Two people. Same tool. One neighbourhood. Zero connection. That gap is what RentalHive is trying to close. We're building a local marketplace for the Lower Mainland — a place where owners can earn real income from equipment they already own, and renters can access what they need without paying full retail for something they'll use once. What you'll find on RentalHive: - Tools and construction equipment - Party supplies and event gear - Audio and sound equipment - Landscaping and yard tools - Photography and lighting gear - And more added every week If you own something worth renting, list it. If you have a project coming up, browse what your neighbours already own. We're still growing and genuinely want to hear from you — what would you rent? What would you list? Your feedback shapes what we build next. Thanks for supporting a local small business. It means more than you know. Visit RentalHive.ca to list your gear or find what you need.

A warm, inviting suburban garage scene in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, photographed in clean commercial photography style with bright natural light streaming through an open garage door. In the foreground, a nearly-new tile saw sits on a sturdy workbench, slightly dusty and clearly unused, with a subtle sense of wasted potential. In the soft background through the open door, a friendly mid-30s neighbour in a casual flannel shirt waves from across a sun-drenched residential street lined with West Coast-style homes. The colour palette features warm whites, golden afternoon light, and muted concrete greys with pops of amber and ochre tones. Shot at a slightly elevated three-quarter angle with a shallow depth of field, evoking a candid, community-oriented mood — realistic, approachable, and grounded.
